Skischule Zugspitze-Grainau stands for personal ski and snowboard lessons with heart. Steven Murray, owner and ski school director, and his team stand for a family atmosphere, professional support and lots of enjoyment of winter sports.
Our team
Our certified ski and snowboard instructors accompany children and adults with patience and modern teaching methods.

We are at home in Grainau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen and teach in the Garmisch-Classic ski area and on the Zugspitze.
Here we want not only to teach our guests from all over the world how to ski and snowboard, but also to give them a safe, relaxed and wonderful day in the snow.
A ski school with heart
A special focus is our children’s lessons. Our specially trained children’s instructors use modern, playful teaching methods.
For this, our ski school has received an award from the German Ski Instructors Association for excellent children’s lessons.
Our goal: children should feel safe, build confidence and enjoy making their first turns.

Philosophie
We, Skischule Zugspitze-Grainau, have been a professional ski school in the German Ski Instructors Association (DSLV) for more than 37 years.
The DSLV has developed a snow sports philosophy that enables high-quality, goal-oriented teaching.
With the DSLV snow sports philosophy we make it easier for you to get started in the snow, return to winter sports, learn new movements or improve familiar ones. In addition, we can respond more closely to individual needs.
The DSLV defines these levels:
Beginners
- First snowplough turns
- Gliding and braking in the snowplough
- Skiing straight with parallel skis in a stable position
- Side-stepping and herringbone climbing
- Getting to know the equipment, moving on flat terrain
Intermediate
- First turns with parallel skis
- Jumping on a small kicker, first piste tricks
- Traversing and side-slipping
- Rhythmic sequence of plough turns
- Ploughing turns with load changes
Skilled
- Piste tricks, skiing waves and dips, easy fun park
- Improving turn control – basic features
- Improving turning – basic features including pole use
- Stabilising and securing your position
- Parallel turns with variable lines
